What's Included?
We've tried to keep things simple, this means that just about everything you could need is included within the price of your stay. Here's a list of what you'll get when you stay at The Old Cider Press.
The Old Cider Press is one of several converted barns.
- Welcome Basket
When you first arrive, you will probably have been driving for a few hours. To help our guests settle in, we supply a welcome basket containing bread, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, butter, cheese, eggs and some fruit. If you have any special request, do please let us know in advance.
- Cleaning, Bedding and Towels
When you arrive, you will find the place spotlessly clean. The beds will be freshly made up and fresh towels placed out. We ask that you do not take out the towels, so if you require beach towels for example, please remember to bring your own. A small selection of toiletries will be provided for the first night, in case you have forgotten anything.
The Old Cider Press has two double bedrooms. The supplied bedding includes a duvet and four pillows for each bed. Supplied towels include 4 bath towels and 4 hand towels. If you require additional bedding (for the sofa bed) or towels, this can be arranged for an additional charge.
- Electricity and Heating
All electricity is included within the cost of your stay. You will not find a coin meter as with many holiday homes! Heating is by electric storage heaters, which are located in the main living area and both bedrooms. These are easy to use, instructions are provided. Electric radiators and fan heater are also provided to give that extra boost. Obviously, we cannot guarantee the electricity - in rural areas it does sometimes fail. Although this is rare, candles are also provided.
- Telephone
We include the cost of £3 worth of phone calls a week. Most guests find this more than enough, however if you think you may need more than this, it may be worth considering a pre-paid phone card. We can advise on this if necessary. Should you use more than £3 worth of calls, we will bill you for the excess usage. Calls are charged at BTs standard rates. International calls and calls to premium rate numbers are not available. Mobile phone coverage in the area is generally good, however, due to the thick walls, it can be a bit patchy within The Old Cider Press. Stepping outside usually rectifies this.
- Computer and Internet connection
We also provide a computer with free broadband internet and laser printer. You will not be charged for use of the internet during your stay no matter how much you use it. You will be able to browse or send emails, even receive emails. If you prefer to use your own laptop, you can also connect to the local wireless network.
What's not included? Well, not much really. It's a self-catering holiday, so you'll not have meals prepared for you, nor a maid service, but that's about it.
